MoU with State Climate Action Cell, Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Maharashtra
🌍✨ Exciting News! ✨🌍
We are proud to share that ECONET has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Climate Action Cell (SCAC), Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Maharashtra, on 10th September 2025. This collaboration focuses on two critical priorities: Mitigation and Adaptation & Resilience Building, with a special focus on tribal communities in Scheduled V areas and vulnerable communities like NT-DNTs.
Through this partnership, we will jointly develop Panchayat-level Climate Action Plans for selected villages from ECONET’s field areas. These plans will drive energy security, climate-resilient agriculture, forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, afforestation, and climate risk reduction, in alignment with the State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC). This MoU not only strengthens collective efforts but also brings us closer to creating real, life-changing impact for vulnerable communities most affected by the climate crisis.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to SCAC and the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Maharashtra, for recognizing ECONET’s legacy and partnering with us in this journey. Together, let’s work towards a climate-resilient and sustainable future. 🌱💚
